The muted greens, cream and mauve of the tiles accent the brass and flowers beautifully. And besides, I haven’t really drawn anything new since my little dog died. Instead I’ve been focused on Zanny Rants. Zanny is a computer generated character I came up with for one of my other blogs, http://www.zannyrants.com, thinking the images would just be used to accompany whatever the subject for the day happened to be. However, I’ve had so many requests for the images, they are now available over at http://www.zazzle.com/zannyrants* on ALL KINDS of things.  Mousepads, magnets, aprons. Eventually I’ll included greeting cards and t-shirts and mugs, and, and, and…. there’s so much more. It’s an amazing place. I haven’t done any graphite pencil drawing in a few days to post on here, but…….here’s why. I just happened by the paint recycling place late last week. It’s where you can get free paint that’s been turned in by others. Well, I came home with $600 worth of art paint, stuff I was totally unfamiliar with prior to my visit. It’s wonderful, fun stuff and here’s just a sampling of the many pieces I created over the long week-end. Have no clue what I’ll do with all these creations now, and… I’ll get back to drawing soon.

The item on the left was an empty Altoids box! Recycling is a very good thing. Now it could hold earrings or pins or whatever. Cute, huh? The other one, on the right, is done on a 5 x 7 canvas board using a stencil for the leaf.

Sing Out

I’ve been adding new art on this blog for awhile now, and as much as I’d like it to be an interactive blog, with feedback and input from those of you who enjoy the art, there are very few comments about anything so far. Please let me know what would you like to see graphite pencil drawings of, which drawings are your favorites, and whether anyone actually reads my little stories?  I’m still a newbie at this blogging business and I realize I have lots to learn. Your input would be greatly appreciated, so leave a comment or three.  Somebody talk to me please.

Today I added some affiliate advertisers, sites that I think might be of interest to those visiting this website, where you can get supplies and creative stuff of all kinds. Frames, matting, paper, pencils, whatever. I hope you’ll find them useful.

I will soon be adding my ebook called “See It, Draw It”. It’s a very easy to follow set of step-by-step lessons that will get anyone drawing like a pro. Well, anyone who wants to learn, that is. I believe anyone who can scribble a line on a page and has the slightest interest in learning to draw can actually be taught how to do it, and do it very well at that. 

Also, because I do have to eat once in awhile, I’ve added a donate button. I love drawing and hopefully making people smile with my art, and…….if you feel so inclined, I would be most grateful for a donation of any amount.
